Gamay (Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc in full) is a purple-coloured grape variety used to make red wines, most notably grown in Beaujolais and in the Loire Valley around Tours. Gamay can also be found growing in parts of Canada, Australia and America. While the Gamay variety offers fresh, red-fruit and delicate floral aromas, it typically delivers little in the way of flavour concentration and body weight, creating light-bodied wines similar in taste to Pinot Noir. Food parings: Poultry dishes, Beef Stroganoff, Pork sausages, Seafood and fish dishes, cheese and vegetable dishes.
