Port (vindo do Porto) hails from the Duoro River Valley in Northwest Portugal and is one of the world’s most recognisable fortified dessert wines. Typically, Port is a sweet red wine but also comes in dry, semi-dry and white varieties.
There are various styles of Port produced in Portugal and various other Countries around the world, such as Australia, France, South Africa, Canada, Argentina, Spain and India. The name Port or Porto can only be given to wines that are made in Portugal. Food pairings: (Ruby & Reserve) Gorgonzola, Chocolate Mousse and Red Fruits.
