Tumbarumba is an Australian wine region in southern New South Wales, regarded as one of the continent's most promising new viticultural areas. It has been an official wine region for a relatively short period of time - the first vines were planted in 1982. Most of Tumbarumba's vineyards lie between 1000 and 2600m (3280 and 8530ft), making it one of Australia's cooler, most elevated wine regions. The high altitude alpine climate which the Tumbarumba vineyards enjoy is perfect for the production of sparkling wines and quality table wine of all colours.
