Wrattonbully is a wine region within the Limestone Coast zone of South Australia, located between Coonawarra and Padthaway. Red wines are the mainstay of production. Cabernet Sauvignon is the mostly commonly planted variety and produces wines with soft and complex tannin structures and plenty of ripe berry flavors with mineral hints. Shiraz and Merlot are the other prominent reds. Production from white wine grape varieties is on a lower scale, based on Pinot Gris, Viognier (notably for botrytis dessert wines and also used for blending with Shiraz), Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
