Zinfandel (also known as Primitivo) is a variety of black-skinned wine grape widely cultivated in California. It can be described as a fruit forward but distinctively bold red that has smoky exotic spice notes. Depending on the terroir and winemaking techniques, Zinfandel is typically produced in several styles such as light-bodied, medium-bodied, full-bodied and port-like.
